But there is something to be said of making the most out of a current situation in order to demonstrate how badly you want to work at another venture. Like when Michael Jordan was kicked off of his high school basketball team, he embodied the work tenacious work ethic of someone who had to prove he was good enough to go pro.
And while Uber Eats driver and realtor Ryan Smith isn’t in the pursuit of a lucrative NBA career that would see him on posters dunking over folks in the paint, he is trying to capitalize on his food delivery business in order to nab himself a customer he can help broker a home sale for.

The first order, which appears to be from Taco Bell, introduces the concept with a text overlay that reads: “Sending my cards out with my deliveries!”

The next is one from Starbucks, it looks like every one of the orders he makes for Uber Eats doesn’t just feature his business card but also a handwritten note on a post-it introducing himself as well.
“Have to get creative! Lol” he writes in the second overlay.

It appears that many other users on the platform were divided over Smith’s methods in attempting to secure new clients. One person remarked, “no chance in hell am I calling the door dash guy to buy a house”
Ryan responded to the individual, writing that he understood where they were coming from and ideally would like to devote their time entirely selling houses but need to make cash in the meantime: “I get it. But I’m only doing this Uber eats driving until I can sell a house or two. Then I can stop and focus 100% on being an agent.”

However, there were several other folks who wrote that they respected Ryan’s hustle and determination, like this person who said: “I don’t see the problem here. Just throw it out if you don’t want it lol! I respect his devotion.”

Another lauded his ingenuity: “Ignore the haters!!! This is an awesome idea, why are people so angry over a tiny piece of paper? It’s so smart & creative :)”

According to a May 2023 piece posted by Bankrate, a staggering amount of American employees say that it is imperative they have a side hustle and if they didn’t, it would be impossible for them to otherwise make ends meet: 39% of all US workers are working additional jobs, with 44% of those with side hustles stating they think they’re always going to need one.
What do you think of Ryan’s Uber Eats card trick? Would you be miffed if you had a business card like that attached to your delivery? If you were in the market for a home would you respect the grind of someone willing to deliver foods when they weren’t closing deals on houses? Or do you find it off-putting?
This baby was fussy with her aunt — until she heard her deceased mom’s heartbeat in her favorite teddy bear. And we’re all in tears.
Losing a loved one is an inevitable part of this funny thing called life. No matter how old or young you may be, no one is immune to grief. Everyone can agree that no parent should ever have to bury their child. On the other hand, when a parent is laid to rest, we can just chalk it up to the circle of life.

It’s hard to say that when it comes to this poor baby, whose mom died suddenly. While the baby girl sadly will never get to know her mother, what she does have, however, is an auntie who does whatever it takes to preserve her sister’s memory.

In a now-viral video on TikTok, the baby was visibly upset. It was then that her aunt came to the rescue with a stuffed animal. But not just any stuffed animal — this one plays a recording of her mama’s heartbeat.

This baby calmed down when she heard her deceased mom’s heartbeat in a teddy bear.
While social media is good for jokes and fun times, it also documents some heartbreaking moments. Let’s take Lula Smith’s (@lulasmith65) viral TikTok video. In it, she’s holding her niece whose mother died months earlier.
The baby is fussy until Auntie saves the day with her favorite stuffed animal.
“She cries because she wants her bear,” Lula says in the video. Lo and behold, she was right. She pressed the bear, which started playing a heartbeat. The baby calmed down and fell asleep within a matter of seconds.

Heartbeat teddy bears are trending — here’s what you need to know.
Lula’s video was a perfect example of how you can use heartbeat teddy bears from Build-a-Bear or even your local ultrasound tech. A search on TikTok reveals that plenty of other people have had the same idea.

While some parents get a recording of their child’s heartbeat in a teddy bear as a keepsake, others use them to cope with loss. This mom gave birth to twin girls but only one survived. She was able to use the heartbeat teddy bear to commemorate her deceased daughter on what would have been the twin’s first birthday.

Lula started a GoFundMe for the baby and her four siblings.
On a GoFundMe page launched by Lula in April 2023, she explained the circumstances under which she gained custody of her sister’s daughter. The baby’s mom apparently died of an asthma attack.

“She was a 29-year-old mother with five kids,” Lula said of her sister. She asked for donations toward the funeral expenses and supporting her sister’s children, who were all under the age of 12 when their mom died. “My sister Kahlilah (Mina) did not have life insurance. Putting my pride to the side and finally asking for help.”

Lula added, “This was unexpected for us all. I’m praying for better days to come. For her children and us. Never in a million years I would think an asthma attack would take her from us. I don’t know how we going to do any of this.”

Thanks to her now-viral video, Lula and the kids will hopefully get help during this very difficult time in their lives. If you want to lend a hand, you can donate to the GoFundMe account.
When a woman’s unleashed dog went after another dog, said woman blamed the owners of the dog under attack. That’s not how that works.
I have absolutely been guilty of walking outside with my dog, sans leash. I have zero excuses for it, but I do have a couple of reasons. First of all, my dog Lorraine is quite timid and small. The only thing she has ever gone after is a piece of food I’ve accidentally dropped. Suddenly she’s Indiana Bones looking for the Bark of the Covenant.

Secondly, she’s very strange and hates leashes. I don’t know why this is. I adopted her like that. When I get out a leash, she runs away from me. Putting on her harness yields a dramatic response that could get her an Academy Award. It’s madness. I now understand that using a leash is as much for my dog’s safety as it is for others. Clearly not everyone understands this as noted by a TikTok of a woman blaming other people for her unleashed dog’s attack. Ma’am, the call is coming from inside the house.

Can anyone ever really know dogs?
Xinyu Fang’s TikTok account, @laurentfong, is filled with videos of her gorgeous Samoyed dogs. These dogs are so fluffy and adorable, I wouldn’t be surprised if Jim Henson himself created the breed.
The Fang family lives in a full house with two Samoyeds and at least three cats. By all accounts, the Samoyed dogs get along beautifully with other animals, as noted by a deeply cute video here one of them is rolling around in the mud with another dog. It’s giving Woodstock ’94 and the headliner is Red Hot Chili Dogs.

Sadly, sometimes things can take a turn which is what happened to Xinyu while at the park with the dogs. She documented an attack on one of the dogs by a retriever who was off its leash.

Thankfully the attack did look to be more playful than dangerous but when you’re in the moment, it’s hard to assess the situation. One of the Samoyeds is being held by a man who is turning around and around, in an effort to keep it away from the Golden Retriever.
It looks as if the retriever gets at least one nip in before its owner rushes over. Although at the risk of making light of this situation, the Samoyed has so much hair that it’s possible the retriever got a mouthful of hair, not skin. I sure hope so!

The Samoyed looks shocked while the other tries to join in which makes me believe the retriever is just playing. It’s hopping up and down with excitement. Perhaps the situation escalated because the owners became tense and the dogs could sense that. It’s understandable why they would. They are sensitive! I always have to be aware of my emotions around my dog. Dogs do pick things up and Lorraine and I are very codependent and grossly in love.

When the retriever’s owner appears, she yells, “You guys just don’t understand dogs.” Unless that woman is a dog trainer, and she may very well be, what she probably means is they Samoyed owners don’t understand her dog.
The comments section provided some fascinating insight into dogs. One person said they used to manage a dog daycare, and Golden Retrievers started the most fights. As much as I appreciate anecdotal evidence, I needed more proof than one person in the comments.

According to Pet Keen dot com, a website whose “writing team includes practicing veterinarians and vet technicians, animal trainers specializing in animal psychology, and people who are passionate about the well-being of animals, big and small,” Golden Retrievers are not aggressive at all! If aggression appears, there has to be a reason. Again I say, it looks like that dog was just playing.
Another TikToker commented that Samoyeds are famously friendly. It turns out they are extremely personable, says Hill’s Pet dot com. They also get along great with other dogs but are “herding dogs and may show some tendency to chase or nip.” Oh now that’s interesting. Could one of the Samoyeds have been in herding mode? We can’t say because the video starts mid-attack. Regardless, please always put your dogs on a leash!

Dr. Kenny Smiles has sent messages to women on TikTok that span from bullying to sexually explicit.
How could one be so dumb? Thanks to TikTok creator Biggdoglefty (@bigdoglefty), TikTok users were able to see how the controversy around Dr. Smiles and prospective patients came to light.
As the video begins, Lefty says that Dr. Kenny offered Mama Tot, aka Twitter user Ophelia (@shoelover89), the opportunity to do some free dental work. Mama Tot turned down the offer but told him to give the offer to one of her followers.

Hefty explained that he came through with the request and did work on a woman. After the success story, Dr. Smiles announced on his social platform that we would be doing a reality show where he would be doing free dental work.

While folks were excited about the possibility of getting some dental work, things turned left very quickly as multiple women came forward with claims and receipts that Dr. Smiles was disrespectful toward them.
In the video, the first woman, TikTok creator Ariel & Jill (@aroseslimes) shared screenshots of messages between her and Dr. Smiles. In her initial message, she praised Dr. Smiles for his work and shared her circumstance with losing her teeth and hoping that he could help her.
However, he responded and proceeded to disrespect her.
“Death emoji, The show is more than a sad story, and with your ummm SIZE, you don’t fit the bill,” Dr. Smiles’ message read.

Another TikTok user, Annely Elizibeth (@annelyelizzy), also shared her screenshots of a conversation between herself and Dr. Smiles. Annely’s portion begins with her getting emotional about her teeth and then the messages are shown.
Annely was initially ecstatic about Dr. Smiles following her online and asked if he saw her auditions on TikTok and Instagram. Dr. Smiles said that he did see it before saying the unthinkable.
“Just wanted to have s– with you. It’s fine,” Dr. Smiles said in the DM.

#stitch with @Annely Elizibeth #greenscreen this is extremely disappointing. I thiught the follow from dr kenny was a tiny light that meant i could possibly finally get the help i need. I was wrong. The message i sent after his was a follow up message to the ugly crying comment of kim k crying. It sent the same time his did. At first, i thought what he said was a joke and i genuinely didnt know how to respond. Then today, #mamatot posted a video that made his message a reality. As someone who has been endlessly struggling to find help, this is crushing. I will not keep this to myself. It happened to me too. This is wrong.

Additionally, Hefty showed clips from Dr. Smiles throwing shade at prospective clients for the reality show.
“OK, the hashtag is #DKSCasting, not casting couch. Be aware,” Dr. Smiles said in a video.

Interestingly, a woman, TikTok user Taylyn (@taylynm) shared a screenshot of her DM exchange with Dr. Smiles, which Hefty included.
“Maybe the hashtag should have been casting couch because after I posted this, this is the response I was met with,” Taylyn said as she showed the DMs of her original videos, teeth pictures, and Dr. Smiles’ response.
@taylynm
This is honestly disgusting & for SO many reasons. For starters it made me highly uncomfortable considering the circumstances under which the video was posted to begin with.. this was supposed to be a shot at a life changing smile. I can honestly say I didn’t find this funny, my fiancé didn’t either. I don’t think this man’s WIFE would appreciate this. I’m honestly mad as hell and feel like I’ve been taken advantage of..I submitted a video showing all the tt community my biggest insecurity (my teeth), was met with an initial response that had my hopes high, then crushed hours later with three quite unnecessary words. I am appalled but also extremely thankful that this comment made me do some true research on who I was putting the hands of my dental care in… 👀 #fyp

Dr. Smiles not only thanked the woman for her submission, he asked for her personal information, said that he was “deciding on who makes the Top 50” and “asked her for 10 more pictures of her size, shape, and stuff like that since the show is about more than just teeth.”
He also told the woman that “clothing is optional.”
Hefty ended the video by saying that Dr. Smiles has some explaining to do.
Dr. Smiles hasn’t addressed the DM’s on social media but did share that his staff handles his social media.
According to NBC News, Dr. Smiles responded to the claims on social media about him and gave the “staff” response.
“I have staff who help handle my social media, Dr. Smiles said in an email to the outlet. “The character I play both online and in my office has been something I have used to break the tension of a stressful experience and unfortunately sometimes people who don’t have full context feel like I cross(ed) the line and it’s their right to have their own opinions. I respect that right.”

Dr. Smiles also made light of the situation and said that “the current situation stems from a blowup of a few written comments.”
Despite trying to share his side of the story, it appears that the damage is already done.
Mama Tot took to TikTok on Sept. 15, 2023, to share that she will no longer support Dr. Smiles.
“I will always be grateful for everything he did for the three people that won Mama Tot smiles. I will forever be thankful,” Mama Tot said. “But after what I just saw, I can no longer publicly support Dr. Kenny at all.”

Folks on TikTok applauded Mama Tot for her decision while other folks sent well wishes to the women who felt disrespected by Dr. Smiles.
