There’s a bit of a generational feud going on between Boomers, Millennials, and Gen Z’ers. The younger generations seem to think that all their problems are a result of decisions made by Boomers, while Boomers seem to think kids these days are lazy and entitled.

Kaitlyn Brande says Boomers, not Zoomers, leave behind the messiest tables.

But Kaitlyn Brande, an 18-year-old server, is attempting to dispel that last stereotype. In a TikTok that has since gone viral, Brande shared the stark contrast between how a group of Boomers and Gen Z’ers left their tables.
Brande captioned the video: “‘They get paid to do that’ vs ‘we know restaurant life is hard, here, let us help you out.’”

As you can see, there’s a pretty stark difference.
“Here’s a table of five boomers,” Brande explained showing the first table. Despite her already taking some of the plates away, the table is a total mess.

And here’s the Zoomer table…

Then, there’s the Zoomer table.
“This is a table of six Gen Zs,” the server explained. “They did that, just saying.”

Quite the difference.

Brande told Buzzfeed why she decided to post the video: “I posted it because I thought it was ironic since older people always expect respect. I’m not saying I expect people to ever stack their plates like that, because hey, I’m a person too. I want to go out and eat and not worry about the dishes or anything. All I’m saying is it was cool and helpful of the younger people, and I appreciated it.”

Unsurprisingly, the comparison sparked quite the debate online.

Unsurprisingly, Brande’s comparison has led to some mixed reactions. “It’s not about age,” one user wrote. “I’m boomer & always clean/stack the plates! I’ve always had 2 jobs, 1 in food service, still do! F/T restaurant Mgr while raising kids: 1 is now a chef & the other a brewer. Those w/background in food service always tip better & are more polite to servers.”

“Neither is a good example,” one user explained.

While another added: “Neither is a good example of your generation vs our. There shouldn’t have been plates on either table when these people left. What this is an example of, rather, is a waitress who doesn’t pay attention to her customers and/or bus her tables.”

Another implored people to help servers clean up, even if they do get paid for it.

One user wrote: “It doesn’t matter even if they do get paid for it, it helps the staff out especially if it is hella busy and they don’t get as much money as you think.”

One user said that some servers don’t want the help.

Another user chimed in, explaining that many servers often don’t want your help stacking the plates. “I’ve gotten mixed opinions for service staff saying stacking doesn’t help sometimes,” they wrote. “Depends on the place.”

Which seems to be a common theme.

This seems to be a common theme, with another person writing: “I was told by a waitress that they don’t like when plates and what not are stacked like that. Just saying.”

Others, though, still help if their servers want it.

A fellow server explained: “I always put the plates together when I’m eating out because it’s respectful and I also bus tables.”

Facebook changed the color of their logo, and many people are starting to notice and wondering what led to the change in logo and color.

The Gist:
Facebook updated its logo on Sept. 20, 2023, with a deeper blue and some small changes to the “f” in the logo.
The changes were designed to make the logo more “electrifying” and “everlasting,” but they definitely aren’t major shifts.
The company also made slight updates to its wordmark to align it with the new logo.

Although it may not be as popular with younger generations as it once was, Facebook remains the most widely used social media service on the planet. As such, Facebook has remained remarkably consistent over the years, doing very little rock the boat or change up its platform so that users feel uncomfortable or confused.
On Sept. 20, 2023, Facebook made a change that many people may have overlooked. Now, as they open the app or look at it on their browser, though, they have realized that something seems different. The blue in the logo seems different, and many people want to know why.

Did Facebook change their blue?
Facebook did make a slight update to its logo, and the blue in the logo is now a bit darker. Additionally, they made a few minor changes to the “f” that are almost imperceptible unless you know where they are.
Meta, the company behind Facebook, explained the change by saying that they wanted to make a new logo that seemed “everlasting.”

“Our intention was to create a refreshed design of the Facebook logo that was bolder, electric, and everlasting,” the company said in a blog post. “Each of the distinctive, new refinements drive greater harmony across the entire design as a key element of the app’s identity. We’ve done this by incorporating a more confident expression of Facebook’s core blue color that is built to be more visually accessible in our app and provides stronger contrast for the ‘f’ to stand apart.”
The logo is certainly different, but it isn’t a radical change, which makes sense. According to Meta’s own statistics, Facebook is visited by a staggering 2 billion people every day, so a radical overhaul of the logo would likely cause a pretty significant disruption. They’ve updated the logo, but hopefully they haven’t made it any harder for all of their regular users to find the app on their phones.

Facebook also updated its wordmark.
In addition to updating its signature logo, Facebook updated its wordmark with a new font and a blue to match the logo.
“Using our custom typeface, Facebook Sans, we redesigned the wordmark and logo to create a consistent treatment and improve overall legibility across Facebook,” Meta explained.
“Similar to the changes to the logo symbol, these refinements allowed us to build upon the heritage of our identity, while creating a stronger relationship between how the wordmark pairs with the rest of the typeface,” the company continued.
Facebook did change its blue, but apparently, the company is hoping that this new blue will last forever. Check back on that in five years.

“He is a phenomenal man,” she stated. “I’ve seen what the business did for him, I’ve seen him just be the stellar athlete that he is. I didn’t see [it] any different for myself. But, yes, he was one of the guys that led me to a great decision.”

Many of us have difficult things from our pasts that define us today, and Moriah Plath of Welcome to Plathville is no different. In her case, however, her childhood diagnosis of alopecia was hidden away for years — until now.
Although the reality star once tried to pretend that this upsetting time in her life never happened, she is coming to terms with having lost all of her hair as a kid.

Moriah Plath’s alopecia diagnosis truly shaped who she was for many years.
As other sufferers know, alopecia is a type of hair loss that occurs on the scalp, face, and body, per the American Academy of Dermatology Association. It can begin at any age, and for Moriah, at age 3, she received her diagnosis.

“I would look myself in the mirror and I would say, ‘You are ugly. Nobody will ever love you,’” she heartbreakingly recalls during an episode of the show.
She goes on to explain, “I lost all my hair for several years completely, not even eyebrows or eyelashes,” per People.

Moriah, who described herself as “completely bald,” shared more about her experience with the incurable disease, saying during the show, “The doctors said it was alopecia but it was like a rare kind of alopecia cause it just all fell out immediately and came back years later. Everywhere I went, I was made fun of by kids my age: [at] church, [by] my siblings. And that’s when I really started to see myself as different.”

Moriah tried to block out her alopecia experience when her hair came back.
Moriah was seemingly in denial about having had alopecia, relaying that “every single one of my family members knew never to show a picture of me when I was younger to anybody. And never to tell anybody.”
Moriah admitted she wanted to “block” out the very hard time in her life, and in one scene of Welcome to Plathville, she says to her father that when her hair returned, she decided to “forget” about the alopecia.
Moriah’s parents Barry and Kim made her feel “beautiful” when she had alopecia.

In a moving Instagram post shared in May 2023, Moriah said about her father Barry Plath, “He’s shown me the meaning of unconditional love.”
Moriah’s parents were very supportive during her struggles with alopecia.
Indeed, it seems that during the years she had alopecia, Barry and his ex-wife Kim were a source of support for their daughter.
“I think you and mom were the only ones that actually told me I was beautiful,” Moriah tells Barry on the episode.
Still, her parents couldn’t make her pain go away completely. “For a while I was angry because you guys couldn’t fix it and you were my parents and you were supposed to fix it, but you couldn’t,” she shares.
Today, it seems that Moriah is more comfortable with her past, since she is addressing the experience with the condition on a TV show. Since as many as 160 million people around the world suffer from alopecia, there’s no doubt that the reality star opening up about her own diagnosis will help others feel more seen.
