Angela Scanlon is the latest celeb to be announced in the line-up for this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.

The One Show presenter shared she is “five foot six” and that will “narrow down” her choices of who she is set to light up the ballroom with on the BBC dance competition.

On Zoe Ball’s BBC 2 Radio show this morning, Gaby Roslin asked Angela: “Who would you like to be paired with?”

In response, Angela said: “I think they are all unbelievable. I think the producers get it right with who they pair.

“I am five foot six so it might narrow down the choices. So I’ll take whatever I am given.”

Joining the cast in 2021, Kai Widdington managed to land himself the title of being the tallest male dancer on the show.

At six foot and one inch tall, or 1.88 metres in height, the professional dancer tends to tower above his co-stars.

Since joining the cast in 2018, Johannes Radebe has won over the hearts of the nation and after originally joining as a support dancer, he has been paired with three celebrities since.

Two years ago he made history by being one-half of the first-ever same-sex male partnership on the show after being coupled with baker John Whaite.

He is also incredibly tall as the professional dancer stands at six feet tall exactly or 1.83 metres.

Angela was announced as the sixth celebrity to join the 2023 Strictly Come Dancing line-up.

The Irish presenter works for BBC and RTÉ, hosting Your Home Made Perfect on BBC Two and her own Saturday night chatshow Angela Scanlon’s Ask Me Anything.

Angela is also known for her work on The One Show and Robot Wars.

The presenter said of joining: «I’m terrified, I’m excited and I have so many questions. Will they make me tan? How itchy are sequins?!

“Do they do flesh-coloured sports bras? Well – there’s only one way to find out, right!? Now I’m panicking a bit… but also secretly thrilled about the prospect of all that glitter. Let’s go!»

Angela added on BBC Radio 2 about whether she had kept Strictly a secret: «I’ve told a few people… I think I’ve been grappling myself and hoping for some feedback.

“So I’ve been saying, ‘What do you think about this?’ I don’t know that I’ve kept it [secret]. I was ready to burst!

«So I’ve told 1700 of my closest friends.»

The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show airs weekdays from 6.30 on BBC Radio 2.
